Data controller

The houses are let by a private individual, so there is no company registration number to state.

What we collect

When you book a stay, we store your name, your email address, your phone number, the number of guests, which house and which dates you chose, the language you booked in, and any message you write to us. We also store what the stay costs, what has been paid, and what has been paid back, if anything.

Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see your card number, and we store no card details. We only store Stripe's reference numbers for the payment, so we can find it again, not least if you are due a refund.

If you write a review, we store your first name, your country, your rating and your text. The review appears on the site once we have approved it.

What we use it for

We carry out your booking and write to you about the stay, for example the confirmation, the request for the remaining balance, and practical information. This is necessary in order to perform our agreement with you (Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

We keep accounts of payments because the law requires it (Article 6(1)(c), in accordance with the Danish Bookkeeping Act).

We show your review because you have consented to it (Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw your consent at any time.

We protect the site against misuse, for example against the review form being flooded. This is done in our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)).

We do not use your data for marketing, and we do not sell it on.

Who we share it with

We use these suppliers, who process data on our behalf: Stripe (payment), Resend (sending email), Supabase (database) and Vercel (running the site).

Some of them process data outside the EU and the EEA, including in the USA. This takes place on the basis of the European Commission's adequacy decision (the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework) or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Beyond that we do not share your data with anyone, unless the law obliges us to.

Cookies

The site sets a single cookie, NEXT_LOCALE, which remembers the language you chose. It is necessary for the site to behave the way you asked it to, and it does not follow you around. We use no statistics, analytics or marketing cookies, and we therefore do not ask you to consent to cookies either. When the owner signs in to the site's administration, a cookie is also set for that session.

How long we keep it

Your name, your email address, your phone number and your message are deleted no later than one year after your stay has ended. This happens automatically.

Reservations that never became a stay, for example because payment was not completed, are deleted in full one year after the chosen end date.

Information about the payment itself, meaning dates, amounts and Stripe's reference numbers, we keep for five years after the end of the financial year the payment belongs to. This is a requirement of the Danish Bookkeeping Act, and we therefore cannot delete it sooner, not even if you ask us to. Once the deadline has passed, it is deleted as well. Stripe keeps its own records of the payment under its own rules, and that is not something we control.

Reviews remain for as long as they are shown on the site. If you ask us to remove yours, we delete it.

Your rights

You have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have anything incorrect corrected, to have your data erased, to have the processing restricted, to object to the processing, to receive your data in a commonly used format, and to withdraw a consent without affecting what has already taken place.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with the way we handle your data, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet, Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, Denmark, dt@datatilsynet.dk.
